IOW no amount of facts and evidence will change your mind that it's no big deal. We got your point. You don't have to repeat it over and over and over just to spam the thread into silence. You created a thread to talk about not doing anything about the pandemic. Maybe post there in the appropriate context.heydaralon wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2020 2:01 pmWhat if you don't trust the government or the news, but you still don't regard this as a big deal? Imagine telling some dude about to storm Omaha beach that in 75 years people will think that having a runny nose and a tummy ache will lead to the end of America. He'd probably empty his Garand into you. If you are scared of the flu, you are living in the wrong country. Americans are better than this.
As an aside, China does need to get its shit together. The last 4 of these viruses have come from the chinky food industry. They really are fucking the dog (assuming they aren't eating it) when it comes to food safety.

Guess what dude? I have carpal tunnel, an affliction that affects far more people than Corona does, which causes me to see letters and thread titles backwards sometimes. My accessibility issues are not really your business btw. If you don't like what I have to say, that is fine. This entire forum is just people repeating talking points, you included. You have brought up Capps' Biden endorsement in like 30 posts. Monte repeats environmentalist talking points, and ND hates Jews. Okee used to discuss mandatory draft all the time. Smitty discusses Trump=Nixon and the Left is Johnson+McGovern. Hastur brings up JP a lot. Its pretty common for humans to discuss what they believe. You don't like the current system and you have made this point more than once. All I'm saying is that if you are waiting for the book of Revelation in real time you probably should bet on a different horse because this one aint gonna come in first around the track. As many have pointed out, this "pandemic" really isn't that scary nor will it bring down America.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2020 2:46 pmIOW no amount of facts and evidence will change your mind that it's no big deal. Do you remember living in Florida? Remember how during every hurricane the media acted like it was an Old Testament punishment from God? The supermarkets always had empty shelves. Losing power sucks, but it wasn't One Second After. People overreact.

Are you still yapping, straw manning what other people are saying, etc? I thought you created a thread about doing jackshit for the pandemic.

Oh no, Hurricane Matthew is coming! Look, the supermarket shelves are empty! That means that the world is ending, not that people are panicking and poorly assessing risk!
A Third World Commie govt treats its citizens bad. Thats never happened before, and it means we all will die!
C'mon man.

You should acknowledge that none of us know if this is going to infect up to 70% of the planet, as many virologists are now claiming is possible. The only thing that matters in risk analysis here is the outcome of your strategy. Strategy A: do jackshit like a peasant who has no agency or responsibility for his existence. Strategy B: prepare a little bit for supply disruptions and the possibility that we will be quarantined in our homes like every country who now has an outbreak on their hands (which, indeed, is now the strategy the CDC is telling you to take).
If the pandemic does not happen at the predicted potential, then StratA Guy spent nothing and can talk shit about how clever he is online; StratB guy can be thankful we stopped the threat and use his surplus food and supplies over the next few months. Pretty much a toss up there. If the pandemic DOES happen at the predicted potential.. StratA guy survives. StratB guy either dies or lands in a FEMA camp.
Which strategy makes more sense to you?

And with respect to hurricanes.. I remember Andrew pretty well. Yeah, it is nice to prepare for hurricanes, and if you don't, you are also a dumbass for that too.

I have food and water enough for a month, maybe two if I double my water and get more canned food. But I ran out of place to store shit. I also got a gallon of vodka, extra salt and flu meds. I need an emergency carton of cigs for storing too. I'm not going back to the Superdome to be surrounded by niggers and have the national guard keeping me penned in with them. Never again. I'm not bothering with personal protection equipment either. I'm going to rely on my immune system to get me through as it's usually pretty good.
