Couldn't get anyone to take Barrie then?Smitty-48 wrote: Mon Feb 24, 2020 2:07 pm Dubas stands pat at the deadline, goes with the girls that brung him
Reaquires Calle Rosen from Colorado for Hutchison, the Hutch era is over, the Rosen era resumes
Signs Jake Muzzin to a 4 year extension at $5.65 million AAV
Really has no choice, they have no replacement for Muzzin, but they traded a lot for him as well
It's about as good a deal as could be hoped for with a 31 year old Muzzin, four years at five and change
This team's not really contending, so better to just keep your powder dry, can't be fixed overnight

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Not for anybody that was going to add more than Barrie this season, he's not throwing the towel inMontegriffo wrote: Mon Feb 24, 2020 2:44 pmCouldn't get anyone to take Barrie then?Smitty-48 wrote: Mon Feb 24, 2020 2:07 pm Dubas stands pat at the deadline, goes with the girls that brung him

I mean, he still has to try to make the playoffs, his plan is clearly that the team will have to play better
His trade deadline "acquisitions" will be to get Morgan Rielly & Codi Ceci back in March
To wit, stay the course

Vladislav Namestnikov for a fourth round pick, decent rental, minimal price, that works.

Dubas is a slow start to next season away from getting fired next year, especially if the Leafs don't make it.

Shanny too, they'll all go in a clean sweep. Shanny & Dubas are like Batman & Robin, they come as a setStCapps wrote: Tue Feb 25, 2020 12:36 pm Dubas is a slow start to next season away from getting fired next year, especially if the Leafs don't make it.
They have Dubas' replacement already, they can just promote Lawrence Gilman to GM
They have a Keefe replacement in house as well, they can promote Hackstol
Keefe in particular is flaming out fast, he's a total passenger, the players have tuned the AHL coach out already

Affordable term limited 4 x 5.65 AAV increase of only 1.65 more than his current cap hitMaple Leafs get a defenceman on trade deadline day
He was here the whole time!
Jake Muzzin's extension in TOR includes a no-movement clause for next season before converting to a no-trade clause and 10-team no-trade in future years.
The Leafs ARE NOT required to protect him in the Seattle expansion draft.
https://www.pensionplanpuppets.com/2020 ... -extension
Bonus laden front loaded contract to make it moveable at the back end
1 year protected, then tradeable/draftable
Hometown discount, could have gotten more money & term on the open market

The game meal for tonight is winter bbq angus cheeseburgers, fries with gravy, and coleslaw
The Loafs are in tough, desperate for a win, but could still get rolled by the Sunshine State Warriors
The Bolts have lost two in a row and Stamkos just went off about it, so they are in a surly mood
Get hype

The Loafs came out full of piss and vinegar,
but by about the halfway point of the period Tampa has been caving them in
They could barely touch the puck to get out of their zone, Sandin gets rolled by Kucherov
0-1
