Re: MHF - Hockey Thread
I accept that I'm watching the Mohawk's side of things in this film but it's the army that are beating people up so far. They are looking like the British Army in Belfast.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

I was ostensibly deployed in the rear guarding the gear.Montegriffo wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2020 9:52 pm I accept that I'm watching the Mohawk's side of things in this film but it's the army that are beating people up so far. They are looking like the British Army in Belfast.
Except that just meant we didn't have any back up
So when Indians showed up, it was just me and a 70 year old Commissionaire from WWII named George
So I was outnumbered by more than 100 to 1
And I only had a Browning Hi Power with one magazine of 12 rounds of 9x19mm

See, when the Indians revolt, the army goes into lock down, everything has to be guarded
The army doesn't treat it like they couldn't just show up at any military installation with guns and overrun it
Because they could, and the army prepares for the worst case scenario
Just because you have some of them surrounded at the blockade, doesn't mean the rest of them can't maneuver
Bear in mind that they have a Paramilitary Wing called the Mohawk Warrior Society
Some of them are even ex-US military, the Mohawks go and join the US Army then they come back to Canada.
That's how the Quebec cops got their asses handed to them
the Mohawks they were gunfighting with were American trained

Were you guarding weapons then?Smitty-48 wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2020 10:13 pm See, when the Indians revolt, the army goes into lock down, everything has to be guarded

There were weapons in the building I was guarding, the Commissionaire George had the key to the arsenal

It seems like bad policy to leave that so poorly guarded then, no offence. One soldier with limited ammunition.Smitty-48 wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2020 10:19 pmThere were weapons in the building I was guarding, the Commissionaire George had the key to the arsenal

This is how Canada is, the security is lax in hippie dippie Canader, it's always a fiasco in Canaderp, the government here can't even tie its own shoelaces.Montegriffo wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2020 10:25 pmIt seems like bad policy to leave that so poorly guarded then, no offence. I mean, when I say there were weapons in this building, that would include hundreds of automatic rifles, dozens of machine guns and light armored vehicles as well
I was just a corporal, wasn't my call what weapon I was issued, and there was no ammo for any of the other weapons, nor was I authorized to break them out even if there was ammo for them

I was always surprised that the training bases I worked on were guarded by men with blank rounds. I know they had blanks because their rifles had those yellow back pressure devices over the muzzles.
Anyway, I ended up watching the whole film. It's alarming how quickly that even a liberal country like Canada can turn into a police state.
However, if a copper had been shot here you can be sure there wouldn't have been a 78 day standoff. Mind you, the chances of anyone having AK47s would be very slim.
Interesting though, it's not a story that is well known here.

Being a liberal country doesn't prevent a police state, plenty of liberal countries are police states. This is why constitutional protections are required, being progressive virtue signalers preaching openness and diversity doesn't actually protect you from jack shit.Montegriffo wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2020 10:49 pm I was always surprised that the training bases I worked on were guarded by men with blank rounds. When I worked with the British Army they had live rounds for the guards at the base, Fort George and Edinburgh CastleMontegriffo wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2020 10:49 pm I was always surprised that the training bases I worked on were guarded by men with blank rounds. At Fort George there was a guard post with guys watching the cameras and then in an adjacent room there was a fully armed squad with ammo, in their body armor and equipment standing by, watching porno on a vcr
At Edinburgh Castle they actually had counter snipers watching the crowd
Canada is a police state because it is a racist apartheid state, what can be done to the Indians can be done to all
