Campbell back in goal.
I'm quickly becoming a Soupie Campbell fan
Not that he's spectacular or anything, but unlike Andersen, he's low maintenance, no drama
Was that Sen's goal an error by Campbell though?
He came a long way out and left the goal wide open.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Like I say, he's not spectacular, he's not a savior, he is a serviceable NHL goalie, but he's not the Franchise.
That being said, the Franchise is such a big baby, constant drama and problems, whereas Campbell just shows up and does the job, which is refreshing after constant Andersen oh my neck hurts wanh-wanh.
Andersen is fragile like a China Doll, both mentally and physically, this is his Achilles Heel.

It was aggressive play to come out like that. He's certainly not passive.

He's not as good as Andersen, mostly because Andersen is bigger, 6'5" 235 lbs to Campbell's 6'2" 190 lbs
Goaltending is mostly just about being big and filling up the net so the puck hits you more.
Andersen's particular quality is that he's huge, but he's quick.
Did they say why they picked Campbell for tonight's game? Are they just resting Freddie or do they like Campbell's form better at the moment?

Andersen is a slow starter, whenever he is out, it takes him awhile to get back into the groove, but Keefe is desperate right now, so he doesn't have time for Andersen to get going, Campbell is the hot hand, Campbell gets the start,
Bear in mind that Campbell's pedigree is elite, he was a tenth overall first round pick goaltender.
A goaltender drafted tenth overall is projected to be a star goalie
Campbell never really panned out as that, but in the last couple years with LA he started to play like he was projected to play coming out of junior, so Campbell could have starting goaltender upside, late bloomer.

I played real hockey for years as a goalie... got a part and a jersey in the state team, but I so appreciate the lads that can do it on skates. That puck moves like lightning. They must be good to not get killed at least once a game. They rest of the game is fun to watch, if confusing, but man, those goalies must have reflexes of a god
Boys didn't really get to play hockey at my school. It was rugby or football. I only played hockey once in a boys v girls match. I liked it and would have played more if we'd had a team.
Hockey was more of a posh school game for boys.
Rugby wasn’t my state, tho it looked like fun, and soccer, well only the wogs played that. If it was cold enough here to learn to skate I would have loved have tried it. Skilful and brutal, in the way only the best sports are

What about Aussie rules? That looks pretty brutal.

Campbell just looks way more comfortable than Andersen right now and that's stabilizing the team in front of him, Andersen blows hot and cold, he can be great, or he can be a clown show, he's unreliable, and right now the Loafs need a steady eddie because the team is so mentally fragile. So long as Campbell keeps making stops and Andersen keeps letting beach balls blow by him, this crease is up for grabs.
Also, as a coach, you'd be sick of Andersen and his constant wanh wanh phantom injuries, if you're going to go off "injured" at the slightest bump, the other guy is going to get his shot to replace you.
I don't think Dubas traded for Campbell just be the replacement for Hutchison, Campbell is here to challenge Andersen, because Campbell is not a straight back up, he's not that far behind Andersen, because Andersen is not actually that good, Andersen is overrated. Main reason being, again, Andersen is unreliable, you never know which Andersen is going to show up, the one who makes big stops, or the one who can't even make one stop.
