I just admitted I was wrong about Biden fool. You were determined to jump the gun and declare him dead long before even a single vote was counted, that's what I took issue with.

Ending global capitalism was the platform. No more offshoring. Curb the H1Bs. Economic nationalism reduces damage of fat tail events like this significantly.

Then there is border security. If Mexico goes epidemic with this, and untold millions of the infected are pouring across our borders and we have no wall to stop it.. democrats are dead in the water for the foreseeable future.

This epidemic, if it goes pandemic, will destroy the democratic party platform as we know it, and indeed every globalist political platform in the western world. I mean.. all the drugs we need to fight this are made in China. The masks, gloves, and sanitizers.. all made in China. That's not even accounting for the disruption in the global supply chain that we already face even if the Chinese manage to contain the spread.

On the other hand.. Americans are already facing economic suffering from a garbage health insurance system, stagnating wages and salaries, and the crony capitalism is so brazenly open now. Bernie still has a solid platform. His mistake was pivoting on the mass immigration issue, which every working class American knows is incredibly harmful to them -- hence Trump capturing their vote in 2016. It's difficult to say how that will work out for him, but pandemic potentiality aside, Bernie still has a solid chance at winning.

Even if it goes pandemic and it is somehow miraculously only a little more dangerous than the flu (which I mean.. come on..) Bernie has a platform on Medicare for all. There are significant numbers of Americans who cannot afford to plop down three grand on an emergency room visit just because they have a fever. People in the rest of the developed world don't really understand how weak our health care system really is, but if this thing starts up here, everybody is going to see it with open eyes.

Dude I have biked up to ten miles at a time in mountainous central florida terrain. West Orange Trail is no joke. That is where we separate the men from the boys. You would never make it past the five mile point. When I did it we actually carried oxygen tanks due to the hilly, high-altitude nature of the trail and thinner air. Not that we used them. It was just a precaution.
