Re: MHF Democrat Primary Poll
Buttgeiger cannot steal enough primaries to win.
Bernie could be the next president. It is not clear which populist can win the general right now. It kind of depends on whether this coronavirus spreads worldwide or not as far as I can tell.
If we have a pandemic, then Trump’s platform is golden. If God willing the PRC contains it, Bernie has a solid chance.

I agree. He has to go from zero black support to a plurality of black support by South Carolina, or he's got no chance. Pete also desperately needs to beat Sanders in Nevada as well.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 5:12 amButtgeiger cannot steal enough primaries to win.

Bernie will get the blacks. Black people are not going to vote for a homosexual white guy from Ohio.StCapps wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 5:13 amI agree. Indeed. Bernie has vastly more black support than Buttigieg, if that doesn't change in under two weeks, for some unforeseen reason, then Booty Peg is fucked.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 5:15 amBernie will get the blacks. Sanders is a shitty candidate with a low ceiling, but with a crowded field, especially in the moderate lane, plus momentum from the early states heading into Super Tuesday, he wins this nomination anyway. If he doesn't lose Nevada and South Carolina to Buttigieg, he wins.

Stop underestimating Bernie. Most Americans are not doing well. Just on the healthcare issue alone Trump could get crushed. People in the working and middle classes pay so much for shitty health insurance right now that it would probably be better for them to be on a Medicare for all plan.
Both men have really good points and you underestimate either at your political peril.

Taking away the preferred health care from millions of Americans isn't going to sell well. Trump smashes Bernie, vastly more appeal to swing voters, and a vastly more energized base. Health care plays to Trump's advantage against a full on socialist government takeover of health insurance.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 5:22 amTrump is a shitty candidate at this point too.StCapps wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 5:16 amIndeed. You do not understand the problem. Most Americans do not really have affordable and useful healthcare right now, and I doubt you really grasp what it is like not having access to it. Just having an insurance policy in America does not give people access if they still cannot afford the deductible and out-of-pocket expense limit.StCapps wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 5:24 amTaking health care away from millions of Americans isn't going to sell well. If you had a toddler who had a fever over 103 and you were unable to get help for him because you could not afford 3,000 expense in addition to the +1k per month you paid in premiums, Bernie might seem a bit more appealing to you than he otherwise would. Voting for a communist is a kind if fuck you to the cronie capitalist system that keeps fucking over Americans. People don’t have to agree with communism to pull the trigger on Bernie. Canadians voting for a crackhead mayor was a fuck you too and did not mean everybody wanted to smoke crack.

Taking away the health care they do have isn't going to make the problem better, or convince anyone with half a brain that it would be better. Taking away health care options that millions of Americans rely on is a huge political loser, this isn't Canada bro.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 5:27 amYou do not understand the problem. Trump isn't that strong, but Sanders is nowhere near strong enough to take advantage of that. Bernie is weak, and Trump is easily strong enough to take advantage of that.
Socialism has a -34 favorability rating (19% positive view, 53% negative view), Capitalism has a +34 favorability rating (52% positive view, 18% negative view). Bernie doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning over swing state voters pushing a socialist health care power grab.

You still won’t listen. You never do and you keep getting American politics wrong.
Most Americans do NOT have sustainable and realistic healthcare. Take your latest paycheck stub and subtract a third of your net salary from that. That would be your healthcare premium. Now consider each year you could have to cover up to three thousand USD worth of Canadian dollars in your out-of-pocket costs in addition to copays. But remember a third of your income is gone just to pay for this privilege so you have much less discretionary income.
And most of the healthcare you enjoy in Canada is literally discretionary spending for the American worker.
Medicare for all is overwhelmingly popular here. It crosses party lines too. You never really understand anything here because all you know is what you watch on television and you refuse to listen to people who live here. This you constantly get it wrong. The media narrative is not reality.
Bernie has a solid chance of defeating Trump, not accounting for the effect of the pandemic if it happens.
If some genius ran on securing borders, economic nationalism, slowing immigration, universal health care and putting American workers before corporations, he’d clean up in the general election right now. Bernie has as many points of traction with voters as Trump.

Re: MHF Democrat Primary Poll
Medicare for all, that eliminates private insurance is not popular, it's only popular among Democrats. Those who do have good insurance aren't going to vote for it, and of those who don't have good insurance, they still like their insurance and don't want it taken away just because Bernie thinks it would be a good idea. Bernie's medicare for all isn't popular, the vague notion of medicare for all with no details is popular, once any details are revealed it becomes very unpopular.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 5:41 amYou still won’t listen. Bernie has no appeal to the center, he's a far left nutjob.
