I wish I had a guinea for everytime someone claimed to have found a cure for cancer.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Meh, I don't think I've ever actually read any claims ever of scientists having found a cure for cancer. Because ten out of ten of stories like that have rather been scientifically illiterate journalists blanking out while the doctors try to explain them things, after which they just write whatever they think the guy said - and then put an (even dumber-than-the-journalist-themself) sensationalist spin on the story before it gets published in the front paper.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2020 11:24 amI wish I had a guinea for everytime someone claimed to have found a cure for cancer.
It's the difference between what people say and what they are reported to have said.

Here's some good and hopeful news, then:
Scientists and engineers in Geneva just completed the first succesful test of a stable fusion power reactor. Great news for those worried about global pollution..
