I have this discussion with young Rockers all the time. Whether you ever get famous, or even make any money, playing in a legit band for a couple years is bragable for life.

Yeah, and honestly, performing develops skills that translate well into most areas of life. If any of you ever fart around on a guitar or something, I'd recommend looking up open mic nights in your area. Playing music for strangers is a unique experience.
