The Marxists want equality. The Libertarians want an aristocracy. The rest of us want what The Constitution guarantees: security, jurisprudence, welfare, environment. (Healthcare still isn’t settled.)

Put me in the "rest of us" camp, somewhere in the big gap between the Marxist "equality" meaning absolute economic leveling, and the Libertarian "take all you can and never give up any of it for the benefit of others unless it gives you joy".

Healthcare should be filed under the first part of "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness". None of the rest matter if you're dead, or so unhealthy as to not be able to enjoy "Liberty and the pursuit of happiness".

Okay, I'd play in that sandbox but you need to define your terms, good & Liberty first. A man thrown off the top of a tall building has perfect liberty, for a few moments.

I listened to an EconTalk podcast recently; “Keith Smith in Free Market Healthcare,” which gave me hope there’s a solution. He had to set up in OK because of limited liability and Right to Work but if those things were changed in other States, his “Free Market” approach (no insurers, no Medicare, complete price listed on website) works.

Living alone on a desert island is pure freedom but no opportunity so no liberty
A Command Economy is pure opportunity but no Freedom.
