There should not have been a draft for Vietnam, it was a misuse of conscription.
The draft was for fighting World War Three on the Inner German Border, not undeclared dirty wars based on lies for the French colonial rule of Indochina.

He didn't really dodge the draft. Whatever they called a MEPS station in those days looked at his feet and disqualified him.
It still makes me hate them when they do this shit and then run for offices where they gleefully send other people to war. This is a famous quote from the warmonger John Bolton:
