All of this while three-quarters of the population earns nothing on nothing; in fact, they pay 18% on their credit card.

To put a final point on it: the folks who earn a decent living, like doctors, who are in the Middle Class, pay 35% on their earnings, while the ultra-wealthly, who do nothing but gamble, pay only 15% on their earnings.

It’s a fucking racket that eventually results in Civil War when enough folks get sick-n-tired of it.

The civil war is in effect right now.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2019 7:56 pmIt’s a fucking racket that eventually results in Civil War when enough folks get sick-n-tired of it.
As you say, Virtual Civil War
Marshall McLuhan Information War.
The Medium is the Message.
1860's Modern America was a militarized society : hence why that war got so hot.
Postmodern America is vast majority bourgeois with small professional military : won't be a shooting war.

In fact; we’re in a Virtual Civil War right now. Thank goodness, The Donald is holding up the liberty end of things; but how long can that last?

It's obsolete. Things are becoming exactly as Marshall McLuhan prophecized.
The Information Age.
As in his book on World War Three ; it's an Information War.
Everybody is fighting this war ; in Virtual Reality.

I don’t think anyone would have a problem with that, if it weren’t for the constant market manipulation and shell Corp nonsense that they engage in. The laws concerning high finance are well and truly broken.StCapps wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2019 9:58 pmThis is the problem with pretending like people are stuck in the class they were born into, and it's all the same people in that class over a long period of time, so if one group doesn't gain as much as another, it's because the group gaining the most is simply rigging the economy in their favor and rigging it against those who didn't gain as much. People need to stop looking at aggregated groups as if they aren't in flux and judging who the gains are going to in the economy as if that is the case.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2019 9:53 pmNo doubt, all class warfare is based on simplistic fairy tales, who knew?StCapps wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2019 9:48 pmMany of them are dining out so much, they get rich enough to no longer be in the middle class, and they become upper class, so many of the middle class gains don't show up on the middle class balance sheet anymore, and then people go around shouting how the rich are getting all the gains. The rising tide is lifting all boats, just some more than others, the rich getting rich is a good thing, not a bad thing.
