I can understand why people would be suspicious of papism. I'm fucking suspicious of it. I don't have an answer

AI's can also give birth to new AI's from time to time, which carry on their experience in another ship

Bitchin' Betty begets Bouncin' Betty

Daisy Mae begets Daisy Duke

Hanoi Hannah begets Hanoi Jane

Another thing is there is nothing here for hive gangers. WH40K at least had a whole series about hive ganger wars. Nothing of substance to be found here. No meat and potatoes as it were

Everybody is a critic.

I'm just doing my own thing.

They don't make much military sci-fi that I like, so I guess I'll just have to make my own.

I work audio visual

So when I "write" I more often just talk into a recorder, like an audiobook

At the same time as I work on the script treatment

While I'm doing concept art and story boards.

And I've got the soundtrack playing to score the music

Military callsigns are like building blocks, you can get more specific as you go.

A Company is One

A Company, 2 Platoon is One Two

A Company, 2 Platoon, 3 Section is One Two Charlie

A Company, 2 Platoon, 3 Section Commander is One Two Charlie Sunray

A Company, 2 Platoon, 3 Section Second in Command is One Two Charlie Sunray Minor

How would you even know, if you don't read shit like Pournelle that multiple people here recommend to you?

I haven't read the whole thread, just a few pages here and there, but all I see is a bunch of stolen ideas. Not that that's a bad thing, it's all that Star Wars was. But what makes that stuff work is actual clever writing. You know: story, narrative, dialog, humor, pathos. A wall of Post-It's of cool techno ideas does not a story make.
We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND
