I think it's funny that the Expos could win the World Series for DC.

All because Montreal is too dysfunctional to build a stadium since 1976.

Fuck Canada.

No one in baseball is going to mention Montreal or the Expos. DC teams already have a hard enough time being everyone else's second team with all the government transplants they are not going to complicate that. They will try to relate to the teams of Washington's past, especially because those are American League teams and aren't major rivalries.

The potential fanbase is the largest in MLB, it's the entire country of Canada, 37 million people for one team.

Canada is just cheap, Canada is a country where everybody plays small ball, nobody goes big time.

Rogers doesn't even care, it's a soulless corporation, it's just content, they don't care if the team wins or loses, they make money when it loses, so there's no impetus to build a winner, it's not like they're under any pressure to win.
