Also strange that nobody in the lugenpresse seems to want to discuss that this is the second drone attack on an oil refinery in recent months.
Unidentified drones reportedly attacked a base belonging to Hashd Al-Sha’abi (var. Popular Mobilization Units) in the Salaheddine Governorate of central Iraq on Thursday.
According to Al-Ahed TV, unidentified drone attack resulted in the death of one Hashd Al-Sha’abi member, while four others were hospitalized for wounds sustained during the strikes.
Footage later released by Iraqi media from the assault’s aftermath showed a large flame in what was reportedly a PMU base near the town of Amerli.
It is yet unclear who orchestrated the operation.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi al-Etejah television network reported that an American B350 reconnaissance plane had flown over the region a few days earlier.
The PMU — better known as Hashd al-Sha’abi — was formed by popular volunteer forces in 2014 after the Daesh Takfiri terror group launched a campaign of bloodshed and destruction against the nation.
It joined forces with the national army and effectively contributed to its anti-terror operations. The combined push, which was reinforced by Iraq’s allies, including Iran, ultimately led to Daesh’s expulsion in late 2017.
The Iraqi parliament on November 26, 2016 approved a law giving full legal status to Hashd al-Sha’abi fighters. Last March, the then prime minister, Haider al-Abadi, to order the PMU’s formal inclusion in the Arab country’s army.
The order would grant the PMU many of the same rights as members of the military, but it is yet to be fully implemented.
Earlier this month, Abadi’s successor, Adil Abdul-Mahdi, issued a decree, calling for the PMU’s full integration in the Iraqi military.

The commander of Hashd Al-Sha’abi (var. Popular Mobilization Units), Abu Mahdi Al-Mohandis, accused the U.S. of moving Israeli drones to Azerbaijan to target Iraq and Iran.
“Trump is considering various ways to violate Iraq’s sovereignty and target Hashd Al-Sha’abi,” the Hashd Al-Sha’abi commander said.
“We have accurate and confirmed information that this year, the Americans introduced four Israeli drones via Azerbaijan to operate within the U.S. fleet to carry out sorties that target the Iraqi military headquarters,” Mohandis continued.
“We also have other information, maps and recordings of all types of American aircraft when they took off, when they landed and the number of hours they flew,” the Hashd Al-Sha’abi commander stated, adding “In Iraq, I recently surveyed our headquarters instead of following ISIS, and collected information and data concerning the brigades of the Coalition and the warehouses of their equipment and weapons, and we presented this to the brothers in joint operations and air defense.”
Mohandis, who has long been a commander in the paramilitary group, is sanctioned by the U.S. and considered a key ally of Iran.
This claim by the Hashd Al-Sha’abi commander comes just a month after Israel allegedly targeted the Iraqi paramilitary’s base in the Salaheddine Governorate.

Tentatively assigning this to Tonkin Bay level of bullshit.
