My wife makes much more gross income than I do, but her marginal income tax rate is so high that most years it's not more than my capital gains net, capital gains is actually the one tax in Canada which is not bad, whereas with all the taxes added up, federal, provincial, CPP and EI, my wife is paying close to 55%

These so-called "trans-women" are men. A male body possesses many advantages over a female body in powerlifting. It's not even just the muscle mass and the testosterone, but the bone structure and where a man tends to put fat as opposed to women. A male body has more leverage.

If we allow men to compete with women in women's powerlifting competitions, then we are going to have no women's powerlifting. It will just be men's powerlifting and powerlifting for weaker men who are willing to pretend to be women in order to just get that fucking trophy no matter what.

What is especially shitty about this situation is the amount of work a woman has to put in compared to a man to achieve an equivalent ranking in women's powerlifting. They may not be quite as strong as analogous male athletes, but to get where they are took a lot more work. Now all that gets wiped out by a fucking asshat who wants to wear makeup and get a trophy he can't earn in men's sports.

Because -- and this is important -- if these guys could legitimately win in a men's powerlifting competition, they'd just do that, even if they did it dressed like a girl. These men are doing to women powerlifters what Elizabeth Warren did to Indians.
