In the Canadian Army, when you want to make a statement, you tattoo it on your knuckles.
I was thinking; 1688 on one hand 1776 on the other.
Glorious Revolution. War of Independence.
I'll use the font for the numbers; from the Declaration of Independence;

Re: WTF Canada?!
I talked to my tattoo guy;
He says he can do the numbers below my knuckles, calligraphy style.
Then on the back of the 1688 hand he will do the coat of arms of the House of Orange, Lions Rampant
On the back of the 1776 hand he will do the Great Seal of the United States, Eagle with Olive Branch and Thunderbolts.
Once I start though, I won't be able to stop, I'm gonna be double sleeved by the end of it.
But whatever, you only live once.

Re: WTF Canada?!
Detroit is the second most violent city in America, I was driving around there this summer, had to go to a funeral in Ann Arbor, thought I would check out Motor City. Wasn't even packing heat. Nobody bothered me.
It was full of hipsters with neckbeards n' shit, I didn't feel any threat.
There were some gangbangers around on the corner, they didn't pay me any mind. I nodded to them, they nodded back, I just walked on by.
I used to walk around NYC back in the late 70's/early 80's, when it was the crime capital of America, same thing; nobody ever bothered me, never got mugged, never got threatened, nobody even looked at me funny.
If you're not in the drug trade, the odds of being confronted by a violent felon are pretty slim, then and now.
St. Louis is the most violent city in America now, my buddy went down for the Stanley Cup celebrations, said he had a great old time, said it was a nice town, nice people.

Waterbury looks pretty cool actually. The city that time forgot. Nostalgic.
I assume if you're selling opiates or whatever, you could get shot, but otherwise it doesn't look scary to me.
I note that there is Duty to Retreat in Connecticut, Blue State.
But even when you have NDTR, it's still prudent to retreat if you are able.

I've never been a Tatt guy. Sure I went to the parlours with the boys and watched them get theres. I'm not against Tatt's mind you, I've just never seen anything I want on my body for life.
One of the coolest ones I ever saw was an Army buddy you got a hex head nut tattooed on his upper deltoid. Just that, Just a Nut..... fit him perfectly.
Thought about getting a bar code on my ass as a joke. Never did it.

Me neither. I don't have any. Even my wife has one, but I don't.
But I'm feeling like a change, and I've got the money to get it done right, double sleeved.
I'm always changing, evolving, remaking myself, so now I want to get painted.

How many "downtown" areas of cities aren't generally the nicest most well maintained parts of the city?Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 1:23 pmWaterbury looks pretty cool actually. The city that time forgot. Nostalgic.

It's when you venture outside of "the strip everyone sees" that you find the true nature of a city.
Would you judge NYC solely by Manhattan? Or by Brooklyn, the Bronx, etc?
As to guns, well, it's illegal to buy "assault weapons" in CT unless they're "grandfathered" in, and you need to have your carry permit, or a "long gun certificate" to buy any gun or ammo even. Or at least legally anyways, as we all know none of that stops criminals. All of that started after Sandy Hook.
