Re: What Are You Listening To?
Ken Burns has his 16 hour piece out on Country Music. Anyone watching ?
I saw pieces, but not in entirety. Pretty standard Ken Burns stuff, whether you like him or hate him.
My first impression, pretty good, but I have some annoyances.

I watched the episode with Cash, Willie, and Patsy Cline among others last night. Pretty good stuff.

Loves me some Ken Burns in terms of his work, I don't really care about his personal political views.
Would point out tho, even if he is a PBS lefty, Kens Burns Civil War is literally a love letter to the Lost Cause, homage to the Army of Northern Virginia and Shelby Foote, so he's got some Rebel in him somewhere, no doubt.

Frankly, if American kids simply watch Ken Burns Civil War, Prohibition and Vietnam, that pretty much tells them all they need to know as to why America is the way it is now.
If he makes one more about the War of Independence, then that could pretty much replace High School so far as I am concerned.
Once you understand the central narrative of your history, the story of your people, that's all you need, from there you can just run your own education.
