For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

I'm pretty sure that this is a very elaborate troll job because no non-sperg would ever act like this.

The actual incident was true and happened as I portrayed it.California wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 5:30 amI'm pretty sure that this is a very elaborate troll job because no non-sperg would ever act like this.

What I've found interesting is people's reactions to it. Almost universally I'm portrayed as the bad guy. The chance of getting caught was a real possibility due to the proximity of the council building and the cameras protecting people's parked cars. Unlike the other 2 guys, I didn't lose my rag, shout, swear or resort to childish insults. I wasn't the one being anti-social or dishonest yet I'm the arsehole.
Quite frankly, I'm baffled that I've received so much abuse over this.
I guess it reflects what people think about me on here and I can live with that but the two guys, especially the bystander, got upset really fast. Neither of them knows me, or tried to see it from any other perspective other than I was trying to deliberately insult the first guy. It's not like I threatened to take his car reg' and report him to the council. They'd have probably just laughed and told me I should stop wasting their time anyway.
This is how you get broken window policies. If people think defrauding the council over a £1.20 ticket is OK then benefit fraud or tax avoidance is a natural progression.

I agree that the guys' losing their shit was ridiculous, but I really don't see your perspective otherwiseMontegriffo wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 5:46 amThe actual incident was true and happened as I portrayed it.California wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 5:30 amI'm pretty sure that this is a very elaborate troll job because no non-sperg would ever act like this.

And none of us have any problem avoiding taxes or defrauding the government because their whole existence is defrauding citizens

That's a rather extreme position to take. Public swimming pools, libraries, education, waste disposal and recycling, environmental initiatives, wildlife and habitat protection, road maintenance, accessibility for the disabled, emergency services and many more beneficial policies are funded by my local government.California wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 6:44 amI agree that the guys' losing their shit was ridiculous, but I really don't see your perspective otherwiseMontegriffo wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 5:46 amThe actual incident was true and happened as I portrayed it.California wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 5:30 amI'm pretty sure that this is a very elaborate troll job because no non-sperg would ever act like this.

Lame.

"Carparks" aren't public goods. When the state runs one, it's built on stolen property.

They clearly are. Without car parks the streets would be blocked by parked cars and you'd get the sort of situations the stop a douchebag movement fights against in Russia where self-entitled pricks hold up traffic by double parking and inconvenience others without a second thought. The most common excuse they use is ''there's nowhere to park''.
If you provide only private car parking with a profit motive everybody pays more, the fines are larger and the high street suffers because people give up going into town centres.
