Even with all the feinting, the kicks are still telegraphed as fuck far too often, and they hang around off balance in striking distance far too often in order to open up opportunities for the telegraphed spinning shit. Throw grappling into the mix and makes for easy takedowns on top of being easy to hit. It also is not energy efficient and the needless movement leads to quicker gassing.

Too much dancing, not enough fighting. Caporeira is not a base for effective fighting, it's a complementary tool at best.

That's sort of my point... there is so much more going on in those scenes, it's not just "fighting"... if he really did do this, he would understand and agree.

In the real world, you need to have multiple martial arts skillsets to use this effectively. Just look at Jackie Chan as an example.

I am aware they were fucking around. Do you not know the difference between low level regional MMA and the height of the sport, which is where we actually find out what really works in a fight? Some Capoeira guy I've never even heard of knocked out a can on the regional scene, and you think that means that shit works as full blown base, against actual trained fighters who don't suck at fighting?

Like I say, look at best fighters in world, some of them use Capoeira, but none as their base. There is a reason for that, and it isn't the dominance of Capoeira fighting technique in real fights.
