In the early 90s the Applebees in Knoxvegas had 2-for-1 $1 beer and 10 cent wings after 10 pm. Good times for 2 or 3 hours after slaving away in the library.

Yep..

2007 was when Applebee's was bought by IHOP. That's about when it started getting super shitty.

I mean.. if you think about it.. it's basically like taking the IHOP menu, adding booze, taking away all the good stuff at IHOP (pancakes and waffles), and jacking up the prices about 50%. That's Applebee's in a nutshell.

Imagine how bad it would be if Waffle House bought it instead.

Apparently, there's not a single Applebees in the whole of Europe.
You're not missing much. Up here in the north we call it Crapplebees.
Go there once a year, they give veterans a free meal on veterans day and they were one of the first to do that.
If you serve shit on a shingle for free, you know what, it's still shit on a shingle.

Quality issues aside, even back in the early 90s WH was way overpriced -- a boomer haven even then. Krystal was the first choice for GenX 2AM fine drunk dining.

Used to hit the Perkins on A1A in Satellite Beach. Best secret beach access point was behind the parking lot. Perfect location.

The hell is wrong with IHOP now? I mean I'm not a fan of Applebee's but let's not start trashing IHOP. I try and eat there every week with my son. It's a fine family dining establishment and doesn't have those spy widgets like Olive Garden. The price is like 10-12 a plate no matter what you get though

You just keep going down the shit shoot of restaurants... stop, just please stop. We'd like to think you have a moniker of decency...
