Syria is a major ground war. BHO got us into Syrian, smuggled weapons out of Libya to arm Syrian rebels, many of whom would become ISIS. Probably over 100k deaths there.

"Maintaining a presence" is chronic victory. Why bother with old-fashioned conquests, when you can get your oil, your minerals, etc. and get them to buy certain goods exclusively from you, without needing to draft a million or so troops for a continuous occupation?

We can get all that without continuous occupation.
I might even go for continuous occupation with some honesty. My current position is that I want Trump to threaten to pull out Troops unless Congress re-authorizes wars with declarations of war. Make Congress debate these foreign adventures.

If we had to go to war or occupy for resources, I might even sign off on that. But I want the truth.

Sorry, but all Obama's 'interventions' are simply par for the course of US history. We fuck with other countries continually, it's what we do, and have done since the very beginning. Check out how many times we sent forces to the Arab shores of the Med, (among other places) in the 1st couple of decades. We've always been quick to send the marines to protect our interests. What he didn't do was put American troops other than SF on the ground, as I said. Far fewer US service people died on his watch, and very, very few outside of GWBs wars in Iraq & Afghanistan. Saying he was more of warmonger than GWB (or any recent president of either party) is just a partisan lie.

In fact, these kinds of lies are what got us 9/11 when so many GOP partisans poo-pooed the Clinton's actions against Al Queda that no one took them seriously. Richard Clarke was running around with his hair on fire during the 1st 8 months of Bush's term trying to tell them the danger while all they wanted to do was get rid of the budget surplus.
