Why walls don't work. Also why StA is an idiot for thinking you need somewhere to plug a stone cutter in.
That won't work... the blade, even if it was the right one won't cut through fast enough.
The great thing is theory will become reality. We are going to get to see how Cartels attempt to circumvent the wall.

"The Wall" will have some of the same tech used that we use for Fort Knox... ground sensors, etc... it will be very interesting to see the response times more than anything.

Derp derp derp as DBTrek would say. I miss his presence here.

Waiting for Monty to post a picture of someone shooting up a Gun Free Zone and telling us how gun free zones don't work.

The appropriate tool is a cutting torch:

I live in a gun free zone and I can confirm that they work.
Not only have I never been shot, I have never met anyone, not a soldier, who has ever been shot.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

You were saying concrete saws needed a socket in the desert.
A large petrol angle grinder will take a disc to cut anything you want to build a wall out of.

On heavier material like the wall they are not very fast. I may need to look up the specs on the wall.

FYI
From the request for bids
The proposed wall must also be built in a such a way that it would take at least an hour to cut through it with a "sledgehammer, car jack, pick axe, chisel, battery operated impact tools, battery operated cutting tools, Oxyacetylene torch or other similar hand-held tools."

If I were trying to scale a large wall I'd personally go with a nice lightweight aluminium ladder and a rope.

Rather than all the hassle I'd probably just overstay my visa like everyone else though.
