And Oreos

That's at least what my kids would mandate if they were President

What could possibly go wrong with government mandates and regulations?

What could possibly go wrong without govt regs?

Deep water horizon anyone?
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Which of these government guidelines is ''a complete waste of time and money?
In most cases, food is stored in lunch boxes for several hours, so the lunch box needs to stay cool. Food safety suggestions include:

Choose an insulated lunch box or one with a freezer pack, or include a wrapped frozen water bottle to keep the lunch box cool.
Follow hygienic food preparation methods. This is especially important when food will be stored in the lunch box for many hours before eating.
Prepare lunches the night before and store in the fridge or freezer.
Perishable foods such as dairy products, eggs and sliced meats should be kept cool and eaten within about four hours of preparation. Don’t pack these foods if just cooked. First cool in the refrigerator overnight.

Now you're tossing up a list of tips/suggestions? Here's a thought - there's a huge difference between offering up a list of suggestions and actually actively "policing" what parents give their children.

I can "suggest" that large volumes of sugary "foods" and/or candy, soda, etc, is not particularly healthy for children, nor good for their teeth. Does that mean that the state should be regulating the amount of sugary foods, candy, soda, etc, you are giving your kid? If you are found to be giving them "too much" should the state take custody of your child, imprison you for bad parenting, etc? And who decides what "too much" is?

If your kid is "obese" (according to BMI probably), should the school be able to confiscate your kids lunch, only offer him "approved" foods with an "approved" number of calories at lunch?

Here's a tip, it's a good idea to change the oil in your car every 6000-7500 miles (check your owners manual). Except, we'll wait, doing it every 4000 might be considered less environmentally friendly (more waste oil, and more fresh oil used), should the government mandate/police it, fine you or confiscate your vehicle if you do it too often? What about not often enough? It wears the engine and could lead to poorer performance (lower fuel efficiency, possibly worse emissions), should they fine you or take your vehicle away if you don't change your oil in 10,000miles?

I'm guessing Monte would support government regulation in these things, the more government regulation the better!!

Why the emphasis on "outbreak" ?

The school is responsible for the safety of all it's students while on the premises.
If parents are sending kids to school with unsafe sandwiches then the school would be in dereliction of its duty of care if it just let the kids eat them.
Then why aren’t they inspecting every meal we feed our kids? We should have regulators in every home, to ‘protect children’ from their parents.
SJWs are a natural consequence of corporatism.

YOU! YES YOU! You made that turkey sandwich for your child, they only ate half and left the other half next to them, unrefrigerated, while they played video games, before eating the rest of that sandwich THREE HOURS later!! $200 fine! You should be watching your child's food every second of every minute of their existence, and if you don't WE WILL. Next time we catch you it's $500, and the 3rd time is a year in prison with a state mandated food safety indoctrination.

Exactly need Food Gestapo in every home, for the children you see. If you disagree you just aren't thinking of the children, and your cold heartless nature is the only reason you hold that opinion.
