Florida Sheriff Deputy Arrested After Planting Drugs on Innocent People
After Wester was suspended, internal affairs investigators searched Wester's patrol car and found two plastic containers hidden in his black tactical gloves. One contained an unused test kit with methamphetamines already in it. The other contained a small plastic baggie that also tested positive for meth. Investigators also found unlabeled evidence bags with marijuana and meth in the trunk, as well as dozens of pieces of drug paraphernalia.
Before joining the Jackson County Sheriff's Office in 2016, Wester was fired from his previous job at the Liberty County Sheriff's Office for inappropriate relations with women, the Tallahassee Democrat revealed.

Why do they not also prosecute him for distributing meth himself?

Wester had been arrested and charged with 52 felony crimes, including racketeering, false imprisonment, fabricating evidence, and drug possession.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2019 10:45 amWhy do they not also prosecute him for distributing meth himself?
According to the story (assuming that it is accurate) they are charging him with possession.
I don't know the Florida law, but distribution might require a voluntary transaction (whether for money or something of value or maybe a "gift" if you could call this set of facts a "gift") with a willing transferee.
Some states presume an intent to distribute if a threshold amount of a particular scheduled substance is possessed. He was probably not carrying that much around in his patrol car to use as fake "evidence" against his victims, but IDK.

You'd think the Law Enforcement community would want to make an example out of this guy as a warning to others in the profession of what happens to you when you plant drugs.

IRS security agent pulls a gun on County Sherriff...………. all on tape
This is a great story, so many angles you can look at it. White on Black. Feds vs Local gov...…… or the fact that the IRS agent is facing charges, but he would not have been if he'd pulled a gun on an average citizen.

Security guard is in the right. Federal property. County has no jurisdiction and he was not visiting the location on official business or in the capacity of a deputy sheriff. Security guard told him to put his firearm in his car. Deputy refused. Security guard drew down on him. As he should have. A police costume does not grant you special rights.

And as a connoisseur of irony, I really appreciated this gem quote:
"I would say ‘Clearly your training is lacking and the fact that you went 0 to 100. Lethal force is unacceptable," said Gaston.

Exactly...… This is why it is a great story. Here you have force used on Citizens all the time being brought into question by other LEOs and the courts.
