Trump was never against legal immigration, only illegal immigration. You were told so repeatedly, and refused to listen. Now you're all butthurt like Trump betrayed you, when it was obvious he didn't share your position in the first place and you just ignored the signs to engage in wishful thinking.
Not true. Trump ultimately came out against increasing H1B quotas when it played badly to his base.

It didn't play badly to his base, it played badly to folks like you, who think they are his base, when they are just a fringe minority who heard what they wanted to hear, and ignored all the signs that he didn't share their views, because they were desperate to believe that finally a politician who could win an election would share their views. You got played, and it was easy to see coming, you were warned he wasn't going to crack down on legal immigration, but you saw what you wanted to see.

Trump said repeatedly on the campaign trail that he was fine with legal immigration, he just wanted a better system in place, and you ignored him because you wanted to believe he was anti-immigrant instead of just anti-illegal immigrants.

Trump has increased immigration in every metric under his office. This does not play well to his base.

Anyway your argument isn't for people that would still vote for Trump, or people that have been let down by him. You don't seem to be intent on changing anyone's vote, you are simply doing the boring "I'm right and you're wrong" routine as usual. Next you will be telling us how inevitable Biden is to synch the nom even though precisely zero people have ever cared to argue otherwise.

Lots of people are arguing that Biden isn't going to win, if you think otherwise, it's because you aren't paying attention. Literally any time Biden says or does something they don't like, they say "Biden is done naow", just like the TDS folks who do the same to Trump.

Trump's base is not against legal immigration, just the illegal immigration, his base hasn't turned on him, you have, but you are not his base.

Trump's base is for restricting immigration. There is no metric for people that support legal immigration opposed to illegal. We do not need more immigrants. Trump's play was to the working class American people that are feeling fucked. If immigration was no big deal then nobody would pay it lip service. Democrats may not care as much, indeed they seem to have gone bat shit open borders insane but Republican voters do care. If you corner them and ask them if they support legal immigration they may say yes so as to not appear racist but any Republican voter that knows what H1B's are (not many they are retarded) will vehemently disagree with increasing the quotas. If you ask them if they support chain immigration or lottery visas they will also say no. The presumption that Republicans favor legal immigration is a rubric designed to undermine the rightful grievances working class Americans face. Beside all that, Trump has somehow managed to increase illegal immigration despite his bloviating. As for Biden, nobody cares. I'm cautiously optimistic that he is actually low key and immigration reformist.

Trump's base is for restricting illegal immigration. Republicans are Trump's base, hence his over 90% approval rating with them, and some blue collar rust belt voters in key swing states added to the coalition, neither are for restricting legal immigration. You are not Trump's base, Trump's base does not share your views on immigration, you just wish they did.

Merit bases immigration and reducing the illegal immigration problem is what Trump's base wants, not restricting immigration in general.

If you keep saying I'm not Trump's base enough eventually it will become true. I've been hearing that for something like four years now and guess what? I'm not.

Now for your argument about who is his base or what they want, take it up with the pollsters. But I'm unsure Trump's incompetent stance on immigration plays to his base. You can try and spin his ability to accomplish zero and also increase H1B's as some kind of victory if you want but I doubt anyone other than yourself would listen to you.

The pollsters show that the base is sticking with him, despite his immigration policies, so apparently restricting legal immigration isn't as important to his base as it is to you, and/or his base is so against the Democrats immigration policies that they are willing to suck it up and still vote for him, unlike you.

Unlike his base, Trump's new friends will not be voting for him, just like me. Big whoop. It's all a reality TV show and nothing happens for his base or his detractors.

Big whoop, your vote doesn't count, Texas ain't no swing state. Trump's base is still firmly behind him, and that's only going to become more true the further the Democrats move to the left. With enemies like the Democrats, Trump don't need the nukedog's of the world and he never did. Incumbency and Trump Derangement Syndrome is a helluva one-two punch, not to mention a booming economy which is the coffin nails.
