Defend your thesis or admit you are out of your fucking depth. We never won any conflict with Iran. When you consider the Southern Iraqi insurgency, the Iranian Revolution, and the nuclear program, it's 0 for 3, and that's not including all the little confrontations, including a US Navy patrol boat captured and its crew taken prisoner, several oil rigs raided over the past several decades, and also Iranian assistance provided to the Taliban. Then there are numerous terrorist acts that they never paid for.
Then there is the Straight of Hormuz:
A not insignificant amount of shipping has to pass through there, within only a few miles of the shores of Iran, well within Iranian territorial waters. They control the world's access to probably a quarter if not more of the annual oil supply by that straight. If you want to play a game of fucking with international shipping, Iran is uniquely positioned to completely fuck your shit up.
