I personally define the "left" as anti-social and anti-civilizational impulses rationalized into an ex post facto ideology. It's always the left, in my estimation. Even when you get "right wing police states", those are a response to the left almost wiping out civilization in that area and trying to construct their new utopia on Earth that always ends in genocide and starvation.
The American left is currently handing their children over to pedophiles and opening the gates to foreigners to colonize this country. I don't think you can argue they didn't cause the collapse.
Of course that’s part of it. But is that really enough to send civilization spiraling downward?
And does that happen publicly if we aren’t already alienated, without any social structure, thanks to the corporatocracy and police state?
Maybe saying the left "caused" the collapse is missing the point. The left is just a product of the collapse. They certainly can accelerate it with their decisions and their political and social victories, but I don't think you get the left unless the system is already fucked up somehow. It's like saying cancer caused a person to die. Sure. Cancer killed that guy, but something was fucked up in his body that allowed the cancer to happen in the first place, and allowed for it to persist and grow. He was exposed to carcinogens somewhere, his body is getting unhealthy, etc. There's more to it than just the cancer.
You can kind of see this relationship today between the neoliberal globalists and the progressives. The progressives are just the symptoms of the cancer that is our civilization's decline and eventual collapse. The neoliberal policies create much of the discontent and existential frustrations that cause people to make personally and socially destructive decisions. But even there it's perhaps not accurate to claim the neoliberals "caused" this to happen. They too are a product of internal forces and trends that allowed them to pursue what is essentially treason against one's own people and civilization for profit.
This seems to happen periodically in most civilizations. The only cure, as far as I can tell, is simply awareness and -- gasp -- the fear of God.
The scariest red pill I have had to take was the realization that civilization itself is nothing more than a belief system. Fuck with that belief system, and it can crash pretty fast. As long as people believe there will be food at the supermarkets next week, and the police can stop the minorities from robbing and raping them, and army can protect them from the actually fucked up civilizations around the world that would love to do us in, everything works to an extent. But what we see today is a breakdown in the fundamental social contracts (like the social contract of marriage and a man being the head of his household and parent of his own children), a breakdown in moral beliefs (like sodomy and pedophilia being normalized), and a breakdown in a belief that one's community even gives a shit about them (hint, it doesn't, because you no longer have a community). All that shit adds up.
Belief is all that keeps this shit going.
