I know it's about what's it's always been about. Justice aimed at the whole of society. Everything from Burkean Conservativism to Marxist Socialism has had different views on what that social justice was and should be, but that is another topic.

The aspect of SJ I care about, though, is promotion of egalitarianism, democracy and increasing opportunity for all of MY people, regardless of socioeconomic background.

(2)Because you definition is entirely personal and extremely emotional. It's like if I defined individualism as "being hateful to others, being anti-social, and masturbating excessively". That would obviously be, not just a wrong definition of individualism, it's also obviously coloured exclusively by a personal antipathy toward individualism and what I, again personally, associate it with. Not what it is.

I agree with you. What I see from Social Justice is constrained speech. Speech you don't like is called hate speech and censored.

If by "people" you mean the people cited most often from those insane stories in the Social Justice Warriors thread on this forum, then no, not at all. One half of them talk about minorities, particularly non-whites, as if they're all helpless and they need those self-proclaimed "privileged" suburban white progressives to help them find their way. The other half prefer to see themselves as victims. You can't create a more fair society, a more just society, out of people who have a pathological need for victimhood status and special treatment.

Their concept of social justice is anti-social. That fair and equal society up there, should not mean that everyone has to validate you, your choices and all your beliefs. Those people are incapable of seperating the personal, from the social, because their entire existence center around their navels.

Does Social Justice support Free Speech ?

It ought to, and that's in my opinion. Can't have a fair and equal society if people aren't allowed to debate their differences openly.
