This was about community. I used comics as an example of a community that has been under assault by SJW whose main purpose is to trash the community that was built up over the course of decades. Read their Twitter feeds and FB posts. They have openly admitted this. They do not want to build their own community. they want to dance on the bodies of the existing ones and expect us all to join along with them.Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2019 8:39 amThey screech like idiots, and your response is to screech like an idiot, because your Iron Man is supposed to be perpetually white, the same characters in the same stories, over and over and over again.
Going back to classics isn't a swipe. If you don't like contemporary novels, you can still read and be edified by classics. The media you like isn't being replaced. It still exists. The inner party isn't telling you The Hulk was always Asian.
I read your post, and understand your claims. You are an adult complaining that comic book characters aren't the same as when you were a kid.
I've been an adult for decades. I've been a comic reader fr decades. This isn't about it not being the same as when I was a kid. You are making ignorant assumptions to fit your preconceived biases.
If you do not care about it that is your own choice, but don't tell others it's no big deal.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. They are comic books. There is always time travel, clones, or alternate universes to bring back beloved characters. Comic book characters have been dying, being replaced, and then being brought back forever. It didn't destroy comic book fandom, or tear apart the fabric of civilization.
Besides, your community can't possibly want heroes that never die, and thus, never face any real peril or have to make real sacrifices in the face of meaningful stakes.

You're missing the point. It's not a single or even a couple of characters. It's a sudden, mass extermination. It's the intentional destruction of a community. Stop dismissing it because the example is comics.

People said the exact same thing about the Todd McFarlane-ization of every damn comic book in the 90s/early 00s. They ran their experiment according to the taste of the time, some people liked it, lots of people hated it, it eventually snapped back when the fad passed, and is now mocked. It is always the end of the damn world until it isn't.
This is what happens when something is serialized.

marvel has already reversed most of those changes in response to sales, as they so often do, adding the best stuff to the status quo and disregarding the less popular stuff. hulk, thor, and iron man are all back to their established roles, and the new diversity characters are featured in books targeted towards a younger audience. you can't blame them, they're trying to appeal beyond their established straight white male fanbase, which shrinks with every passing year. it's nothing personal, it's just business. of course the fickle nerd fanbase complained, as they so often do, and took it personally, but it's not like marvel wasn't putting out solid books even at the height of their SJW efforts. punisher: the platoon http://readallcomics.com/punisher-the-platoon-001-2017/ was great, lemire's moon knight http://readallcomics.com/moon-knightt-v ... -001-2016/ was great

This is not like Image comics in the 90s. That was a true expansion, creating a new company with new characters. This is a hostile takeover.Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2019 9:38 amPeople said the exact same thing about the Todd McFarlane-ization of every damn comic book in the 90s/early 00s.
