Best thing I've seen in a while. Lays bare how fucked up the situation was, how government bureaucrats at all levels made monumentally bad decisions based on how bad news might be received.

I'm on part 3 it's pretty fucking scary

You, not a fan of Christian dogma spoofs? No way! Bet you also loved Kevin Smith's Dogma. Of course you did, how could you not with lines like this from Alan Rickman as Metatrón:Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2019 6:42 pmSounds ripe for more degeneracy and propaganda, honestly.

“Stephen Fry in America” on Netflix. Brit comedian drives through every state in the US, from Maine to Alaska.
I’m always fascinated to see how other cultures view the US, but it’s nearly impossible thanks to our media dominance.
Hoping he gets a little less polite as the show goes on.

Is that the series where he is in his London taxi?SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2019 8:17 am“Stephen Fry in America” on Netflix. Brit comedian drives through every state in the US, from Maine to Alaska.

Fry is always polite but I seem to remember that he confronted a homophobic priest at one point.
Must be a few years old now. Made before the Trumppocalypse.

I binge watched the series last week.brewster wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2019 6:19 pmWatched E1 of Good Omens yesterday. I'm in. Great performances from Michael Sheen and David Tennant as an angel and demon who have gone soft on Earth and aren't all that thrilled with Armageddon being at hand. Favorite bit: Little Antichrist is being delivered at a hospital run by secretly satanic nuns. They're a "Chattering Order" and one is Sister Loquacious. Helps to be familiar with The Omen, more references gotten, but not required.
Excellent work with great acting, as you say.
Adding it to Episodes and Catastrophe as a great example of British and American talent coming together successfully.
Several laugh out loud moments.

That’s the one, yeah. Looks like it was filmed in 2016. One of his first stops was a Mitt Romney town hall.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2019 8:43 amIs that the series where he is in his London taxi?SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2019 8:17 am“Stephen Fry in America” on Netflix. I’m very hooked. He’s an excellent presenter, and he’s getting a good taste of the local flavor where he goes.

I can vouch for Babylon Berlin, made my top 5 last year, good shit. It's Boardwalk Empire meets The Wire in German.
