Yup. My Papa (grandfather on mother’s side) was one of the people that was in charge of building the infrastructure for it.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2019 8:01 amThe government literally controlled the Internet in the 1980s.

Re: Net Neutrality
Government intervention in the internet will make all of that worse, this is the FCC we are talking about dude. Net Neutrality is counter-productive as fuck, even going by your stated goals, Net Neutrality is not the way to achieve them, just the opposite.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2019 7:08 amYeah, fuck our internet access, ability to speak freely, and access to objective information. The FCC ain't going to let you speak freely, who are you trying to fool? Keeping the internet away from their censorious asses, will allow you to speak a whole lot more freely, give you greater access to objective information and internet access.
Your support of Net Neutrality doesn't help you achieve those goals, it helps make it tougher to achieve them. Giving the FCC regulatory power will increase the barrier of entry to any internet provider trying to get into the game with even higher barriers to entry than before they were given that regulatory power. You aren't hurting the big IP's with Net Neutrality, you are helping them reduce potential competition and making it real easy for them to bribe the regulators into censoring things to their liking, you shekel cuck faggot.
Thinking Obama's Net Neutrality is pro-free speech is buying into Orwellian doublespeak, giving a blowjob to IP oligopolies, while claiming to be aimed at reigning them in, claiming to protect free speech, while supporting the regulation of the internet by notorious censors at the frickin' FCC. Conned by a nice sounding term, that's StA in a nutshell on this topic.

Government intervention to keep the phone companies from disconnecting people for saying things phone companies don't like on calls is communism.
