There are also older cars that you might not want to wear seatbelts in. I was in the passenger seat of an old Mustang when this chick collided right into the side of the thing. The whole door caved in on me and threw me over into the driver's side of the car.

I was sitting on the side of the road drinking a slurpee or something and this cop came up to me and asked me if I was in the passenger's seat. He said he knew I wasn't wearing a seatbelt because I would have been dead.

That shit kind of stuck with me in the back of my mind. I realize that the newer cars will release the seatbelt (hopefully) if the whole side of the car caves in on you, but I think the safety of seatbelts in city driving with respect to 1980s and earlier automobiles might be a bit overstated.

The new mayor of this little town is playing Sim City with our tax dollars, building a fifteen million dollar brick sidewalk between the Dollar General and the strip of Mexican businesses. There is this hundred thousand dollar clock kiosk thingy. They want to build a giant parking lot (I suppose so tourists can come to our Dollar General).

I suspect, like in Sim City when you run out of funds, he is trying to keep his shit in the green.
