Without the right messenger, that message never would have sold, the Dems don't have the right messenger in 2020. Donald Trump didn't prove the establishment was so weak that any outsider can take them down, he proved he was stronger than the establishment candidates and therefore could win enough establishment republicans over to take the nomination.
