The Argies an American client by the Regeanite assertion of the Munroe Doctrine in the face of the Soviets.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2019 1:44 pmWhat are the Argies but a bunch of Spaniards and Italians anyway?
So there was contention in 1982. At first Washington refused to throw Buenos Aires under the bus.
What the British did was invite Reagan to Windsor to hang out with the Queen.
She took him riding around the estate on horseback.
Charmed him with the whole WWII Special Relationship thing.
Being Greatest Generation, Reagan was of course charmed.
So he flipped to the British side and threw the Argies under the bus.

But this is happening in real time. This is happening now.
UKUSSA Anglosphere is maneuvering right now.
The Liberal Party of Canada is trying to get the Chinese to fund the Eskimo Communism.
This cozying up to China is being interdicted by UKUSSA.
Meng Wang Zhou. That's Five Eyes. Canada has wandered off the reservation, so Five Eyes has stood to.

See, an Anglo-American annexation of Canada would not be a blitzkrieg of tanks and helicopters.
Five Eyes would simply wage political war to depose the government and install a friendly regime in its place.
This is why the Liberals have to be careful.
They are nervous right now, because Trump has sent them the message that they are in no man's land.

I would actually guess that it is not Trump so much as Pompeo.
Trump seems to have delegated what I refer to as the Huawei War, to Pompeo.
But I kind of like Pompeo. He's a Dean Acheson type Cold Warrior.
I'd much rather have Mike Pompeo as my de facto defense minister than those clowns up at NDHQ

I prefer constitutional monarchy, just with a stronger constitution and monarchy.
Less democracy, more rights, monarch who can express their opinions publicly as they deem necessary.

I would prefer a democracy of the warrior class, as the United States was intended, but with a professional army instead of a perennial compulsory army.
So instead of every landed (tax paying) male belonging to the militia, which becomes the army in the times of war, I would prefer a standing professional army of volunteers, who when honorably discharged become the electorate and political class.
A high degree of liberty is fostered for everybody. You don't have to become a voter if you don't want to be, and refusing to serve isn't going to affect your ability to succeed in life. Indeed, I would foresee the merchant class completely unfettered from the need to pretend they are what they are not. They can just become men of industry and not worry about shit that doesn't concern them.

Starship Troopers Republic. I could get with that too, basically disenfranchise the non hackers.
The bottom line is limiting democracy to those who have skin in the game.

Merchants couldn't vote then and they'd want power besides their sheckels so I'd wager it wouldn't work long before they wormed and bribed and tricked their way into the polity.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2019 12:47 pmI would prefer a democracy of the warrior class, as the United States was intended, but with a professional army instead of a perennial compulsory army.
