In alot of interviews, GRRM had said that he wouldn't make a Tolkienesque ending. Yet the NK still ended up as more boring version of Sauron. To me that was the biggest waste of potentially interesting antagonists.

They could have made him talk, but at the same time, the more we knew about the Night King, the less cool he seemed, so that might have backfired.

Social Justice Warrior, isn't not only sarcastic, many actual SJWs call themselves that, and they don't mean it in a sarcastic way. The term is neutral, one group uses it as sarcastic remark, one group uses it in a totally serious manner wearing it as a badge of honor.

Not everything is SJW, just fighting for social justice, whether one fights about silly causes or not, derp.

You obviously know less than zero about his history in corrupting the Hugo awards.

Not sure about the Hugo awards...

But creating a character in your novels or show that captures the spirit of the social justice warrior doesn't mean you are one...

In the narrative about Khal Drogo and the slave who betrays Danaerys and results in Drogo's death and her ascension to Mother of Dragons we have an excellent narrative device to critique her hubristic self contradictions and the karmic path that leads to her eventual demise... redemption always being possible but at this stage a long shot...

It's still possible that this gets pulled off.

The jury is out.

How they handled the Night King did not clinch it one way or the other...

When SJWs started trying to blacklist “wrong-thinkers” out of fiction writing and publication in general, but particularly out of the Hugo awards, there was a backlash movement called Sad Puppies. GRRM lent his weight to the SJWs and ultimately advised them to vote “no award” on the slates that Sad Puppies authors locked down. He wrote many a long, rambling blog post justifying his interference, you can still read them if you have a few days to waste.

As to how much falls on GRRM... it seems like he couldn't figure out how to complete his own narrative...
Possibly because of his own unresolved SJW issues...

He certainly spent much of 2014 and 2015 defending SJWs and derailing the awards they couldn’t lock conservatives out of. So I know why he didn’t have any new books coming out then. Not sure what he’s been doing the last four years. Getting fatter, probably.
