You can run your whole house on propane btw. You need a large tank. In Texas it lasts very long.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 4:06 pmNo, you can buy either type, there is propane model with a tank, and a natural gas model which hooks up to your house.TheReal_ND wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 4:03 pmUh.... Is there a big propane tank on your property?
I literally thought it was all propane.
It's basically just an adapter hose instead of a propane tank.

LG jets have to be larger because it doesn’t burn as hot as propane.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 4:06 pmNo, you can buy either type, there is propane model with a tank, and a natural gas model which hooks up to your house.TheReal_ND wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 4:03 pmUh.... This is the specified natural gas model, I don't use propane tanks, my backup grill down on the patio is charcoal.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 4:10 pmLG jets have to be larger because it doesn’t burn as hot as propane.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 4:06 pmNo, you can buy either type, there is propane model with a tank, and a natural gas model which hooks up to your house.TheReal_ND wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 4:03 pmUh.... What does cuy taste like?Martin Hash wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 3:41 pmFact is, right now I’m eating cuy (guinea pig) roasted on an open flame, and trout (raw) ceviche, along with a Peruvian dark beer. Can’t wait to get home to some Bud Light and McDonald’s coffee though.

There are certain things I might want to apple wood smoke or something like that, so I retain a charcoal grill as a secondary option.

Different chemical structures,TheReal_ND wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 4:08 pmlmao I thought LG meant propane. Never really thought about it. Should have known because I know enough about petroleum to know there are different gradients. I suppose
Butane = C4 H10
Propane = C3 H8

Anything like that, that's what the charcoal grill is for.
Plus if for any reason the main grill is knocked out of action, the backup grill is low tech redundancy.

Big fan of wood burning tech myself. There are some high tech designs like wood gas and such that I've been meaning to do research on. Unlike diesel, which would require days to gas someone to death, wood gas can do it in minutes.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 4:20 pmAnything like that, that's what the charcoal grill is for.
