Rantanen used to be soft, but he's really starting to get the hang of using his frame now, and it's taken his game to the next level.
Reilly is what he is. He's a better version of Keith Yandle.

When people say they need an RHD, what they really are seeing is that they need someone to play with Rielly who is tough, to compensate for Rielly being butter soft.
True. Rielly is soft as partially melted butter, especially for his size, he hasn't improved his physicality despite filling out, and it hurts his defensive game in his own zone in particular.
He doesn't have any aggression. He doesn't hit people, he doesn't box them out.

This is why Babs doesn't put him on the PK.

Rielly just slides off of people and wilts, then stands around looking stupid.

He doesn't play defense. He's 220 lbs, but he can't break a cycle along the boards.

He doesn't shut people down, he's a defensive liability. He needs a partner who plays defense.

Like that third goal tonight, the Sean Kuraly goal.

The goal that broke their back.

That was one on three, and the third Leaf he beat was Rielly.

Because Rielly didn't step up, he just waved his stick at him.

Soft as butter shit. Doesn't play defense.

That's a fourth line player.

Not even busting any moves.

Just skating straight at the net.

Rielly, ostensibly the Leafs best "defensemen"

Like a deer in the headlights.

Does nothing. Free pass to the net. Just waves a stick at him.

He's literally worse than useless in his own end without the puck.

Because he simply does not play defense.

Maybe the long layoff between series iced them.

They might not be on the same roll by now.

What they did with Tampa, it's hard to bottle that.

What a play by Burakovsky, steal and score, forecheck and snipe, 1-0 Caps.

Oh the game has started?

I better get downstairs and see what's going on.

I just have to enjoy the sunset from my deck first.

Everyday is a gift.

Alright, transfer to the patio is complete.

Marlies leading the Amerks 1-0 in the second.

Sandin, Liljegren and Rosen, all looking good.

Borgman is looking good too, can't have too many depth defensemen.
