Indeed, I'd be surprised if he wasn't injured.

Re: MHF - Hockey Thread
He blocked those two shots in that game, and he came up lame.
I thought at the time "uh oh, Marner is hurt"
But then he seemed to shake it off.
But that's the last time I noticed him.
He seemed to completely disappear, after those shot blocks.

Like they did not call Marner's name once in this game.
It was like he was not even playing.
Didn't notice him at all.
Which is weird, cause he's the engine that drives the team.
It was like he wasn't skating, couldn't get it going, so I'm suspicious about those shot blocks.

I pretty suspicious as well, like I say, would be surprised if he wasn't hurt, even if he says he wasn't, don't think I'll believe him.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2019 7:01 pmLike they did not call Marner's name once in this game.

Well it's like Kadri blew up the third line, because while Nylander can play center he can't yet generate offense from there.StCapps wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2019 7:04 pmI pretty suspicious as well, like I say, would be surprised if he wasn't hurt, even if he says he wasn't, don't think I'll believe him.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 23, 2019 7:01 pmLike they did not call Marner's name once in this game.

Then the Tavares went ice cold because Marner completely disappeared off the face of the earth.
So they just had to shut the Matthews line down. Matthews did okay, he did score, but nobody else did.
Kadri melting down and Nylander not being able to score while playing center is normal, par for the course.
Marner completely disappearing is not normal, that was the thing that brought them down.

It's like Marner is the McDavid of the Leafs and Matthews is the Draistl.
Looking back on it now, it looks to me like Leafs McDavid just disappeared totally.
For whatever reason, Marner could not play to his normal level. Not even close.
Without their McDavid, the Toronto Lottery Picks could not generate offensive momentum, and their power play died off.
That's basically their game, without the power play scoring, they couldn't bury their chances.

Lulz, the hockey gods are so cruel, Sharks just running them out of the rink for the first ten mins, but take an icing and a lucky bounce has VGK up 1-0.

Ah well, back to the drawing board for Dubas.
Methinks if he doesn't surround his big four with a bigger meaner heavier supporting cast, he's just going to keep getting rolled.
In the meantime, hopefully Leafs West can do some damage.
And hopefully the Marlies can go a little deeper, just to give Sandin and Liljegren more seasoning.

I mean, they need Sandin and Liljegren to get seasoned.
The Loafs are too much of the same small soft players.
Can't reshape the roster overnight.
By the time the Leafs swap out some of these soft as baby shit players for some heavier guys, Sandin and Liljegren will be in their top four.
