How do you know that? It looked like a classic chipped stone dagger to me.
If it was just a chipped stone dagger, it wouldn't have slain the white walker. That's how she knows that.
Chipped obsidian looks like chipped flint, except it's black. It does not look like a cast dagger. The hound's axe looked fragile to me, a glass axe head should look more like a wood splitting wedge.

Knapped obsidian daggers:

You are missing the point, it was clearly dragon glass, if you didn't pick up on that, you aren't paying attention. The show isn't going for authenticity, it's going for magic white walker killing axes and daggers. You might not think it looks like what dragon glass should look like, but that is what it is, you are way overthinking it. The Hound wouldn't need a new weapon if it was just obsidian dude, it's dragon glass.

If it wasn't dragon glass none of it makes sense...

lol

Let's fight the zombies with stone age tools for no reason... doesn't really add up as a plot twist.

The Hound wouldn't even need a new weapon if it wasn't dragon glass, why would he even bother if it wasn't?

So what was Arya's new weapon*? That's likely to be the dues ex machina, looked like a projectile to me at first glance

*definitely most certainly to be made of dragon glass

Do we know who wins yet?

I quit reading the books after GRRM took a couple years to get A Feast for Crows out. I knew at that point the lazy SOB would never finish. It was obvious His roly-poly hobgoblin-looking ass was sure to pull a Robert Jordan on us.

I never really got into watching GoT because I’d already read the first three books and it took them a while to catch up.

So now - all I really want to know is who won?

Post those spoilers folks cuz IDGAF about this series. Who won dammit? Cersei? Jon? Tyrion? Daenerys? I don’t even care how they won, just who.

Knowing the end without ever paying troll-lord Martin another dime is all the revenge I need.

Messa Messa I'm going to kill everyone like daddy.

Did yall have a three page argument about dragon glass?

The real question is will the dragon fire overpower the zombie dragon ice...?

Furthermore, will wildfire hurt dragons or Khaleesi?

And that looks like a blade chipped, AKA "knapped", out of a piece of obsidian, which the script made clear that dragon glass was. The process for flint and obsidian is the same. That does not look like a cast weapon. My son has a half a dozen stone and obsidian blades, this is something I'm familiar with.

Melting and cooling materials is not simple, as anyone who has watched Forged In Fire knows. All sorts of stuff happens. It could even be magnetic fields from an earlier era crystallized in the glass. My factoid I learned today: Dogs will line up with the magnetic field of earth when they take a dump. All that circling is probably to zero in on it.

They do make clear that it's dragon glass, it's a television show, you are overthinking it. They weren't trying to be super blacksmith nerds, stop looking through that frame. If it looks like Obsidian, it's dragon glass in GoT.

You are steadfastly missing my point. I have not disputed it's dragonglass, but they have no idea if melting it would let the magic out. Anyone who has any material knowledge knows that melting shit changes its properties. There could be any number of reasons other than the basic material as to why it kills the dead.
