Makar looks like Rielly from six years ago.

When Rielly was like 190 lbs.

Rielly has put on a lot muscle since then, now 220 lbs

Great first period from Makar, even made a great defensive play in his own zone. He's got the passes, he's got the shots, he's got it all baby.

My dad is saying Cale reminds him of Scotty Niedermayer.

Super Saiyan MacKinnon looks straight up unstoppable.

Nah. I don't think Neidermayer. Neidermayer was more ponderous, cerebral, not as flat out fast.

Makar is Rielly West, straight up the ice like a rocket, takes it right to the net.

The other guy I think of when I watch Makar is Karlsson.

Karlsson. Rielly. That's the archetype I'm seeing.

Neidermayer is like Duncan Keith. That's a different style. Not nearly as explosive as Karlsson, Rielly.

Yeah, he had Karlsson's coach when Karlsson was developing, at UMass, Greg Carvel. He definitely made the right call staying an extra year, and picking UMass in the first place.

Makar is more physical than Karlsson too. More power, more explosion.

Niedermayer was more of a defensive god, he didn't rack up huge points, 11-15 goals, 45-55 points.

Makar looks more like Karlsson, 20 goals, 80 points.
