Makar is a loyalty guy first, not sure that would work. The Avs aren't lepers anymore, Makar doesn't view them the way Butcher did. It's not like the Avs are going to lowball him or anything.

Would rather have the Avs roster than Devils roster right now anyways, even with Jack Hughes. Why would Makar want to play for Jersey?
