Don't look now folks, but Biden's poll numbers have either held steady or increased in all the polls released with the Creepy Uncle Joe stuff baked into the cake. Told you claims of his demise this early were greatly exaggerated, if he's going to take himself down, which is a strong possibility, he's still got some work to do.

Another way to look at it is to consider that even Democrats are tired of the radical left. The SJWs really thought they were going to take Biden down with their whole “ten years ago he made me uncomfortable by being to close” bullshit. Uncle Joe just rolled his eyes, mouthed an apology, and started cracking jokes about it the next day.

Massive FU to the SJW wing, from the party they want to puppet master.

Indeed, I've been saying that SJWs aren't the base of the party, just a vocal fringe minority. But some people around here want to see the demise of the establishment so bad that they assume the SJWs are the new base, and any candidate who isn't far out in left field is dead in the water. But of course, reports of the establishments demise have been greatly exaggerated.

He still hasn't announced and no one has jumped in his chilly yet. I would hold off on saying he has weathered this.

Yeah, I think Dems are closer to falling over the SJW ledge than StCapps realizes . . . but the old battle axes are too entrenched to be uprooted at this point. If Beto had been facing the same criticisms he'd be on his third or fourth Spanish speaking apology tour by now.

It's baked into the cake. Has been for years, rehashing old news as if it's fresh again, not a winning strategy. New gaffes will be required, though he is prone to those.

Then why did the neoliberals clean up against the far-left in the 2018 mid-term primaries if the party wants to swing super far left? Nah, the SJW faction has grown in recent years sure, but they are nowhere near the largest faction in the democrat party, and that lane is crowded with traffic. The far left has only done well in far left leaning house districts, they have no real electoral victories aside from them, that shit doesn't win elections, even in the Democratic party. All the Democrats who won Senate seats didn't go far left, no they moved to the center.

AOC is an outlier folks, the party doesn't want to head in AOC's direction, bad politicians just think they do.

Why are you watching primaries when culture precedes political change?
When one movement is growing in influence and another waning, you can't point to the weakening status quo and reasonably deduce "NO PROBLEMS, THEY AREN'T GONE YET". That's silly.

You've confused re-stating the present with making reasonable predictions.

Yeah the Establishment isn't as powerful as it used to be, and yeah the SJW's are growing in influence within the party, but it's nowhere near the tipping point. The only way for the far-left candidate to win, is to get the backing of the establishment. Without the establishment jumping on their bandwagon and abandoning the more establishment candidates due to questions of electability, they won't go McGovern.

Now not saying it's impossible for Sanders or Harris to win over the establishment, far from it, but without the far-left unifying behind one of them early, and getting some early momentum by winning in Iowa or New Hampshire, that isn't going to happen. Beto needs Biden to fall off before Iowa or New Hampshire in order to win, and if he does, it will be because the establishment jumped on his bandwagon from Biden's, not because the SJWs are the base now.

This is where you are off. You put neolibs and SJWs at odds when in fact they are very comfortable with each other. In fact when the far left get out over their skis the corporate Ds relish using identity politics to check them. They try to out woke each other. That is not changing in fact that is inherent in the Biden narrative. The woke love a good redemption arch. Build him up, tear him down, rather, rinse, repeat. You talk about 2018 primaries, I think of Kansas 02 you had a Native American lesbian mma fighter vs a white Male college professor, the lesbian was the more moderate of the 2 and she won the primary. That whole party ran on identity politics.
