The whole Shanaplan was supposed to be draft skill with the caveat that some of that skill would be traded for grit later.

Hasn't happened.

They've loaded up on skilled players, but they are all soft as butter.

The Leafs couldn't afford to fit Hughes under the cap even if they won the lottery.

Once you win the lottery, and sign Tavares, then you have to do the next part, which is the hardest part.

Didn't do it this year.

So that's a write off.

Basically just providing something to watch on tv until the actually warm weather comes.
