Re: Socialism
The left defers to “experts” as god-like figures, and is content to abdicate their freedoms, productivity, and quality of life to their expertise without question.
The right knows that humanity is flawed (even expert humanity) and can reason that a complex problem like global climate isn’t solvable by sacrificing productivity, freedoms, or quality of life to a small group of “experts”.
So here we have a bunch of leftists stuck on this idea that “The right are inbred rednecks that don’t understand science!”
But the truth is we understand science. It is the left that doesn’t understand the complexity of the problem at hand, and the utter inability of their god-figure authorities to solve it.
So the left keeps agitating for us all to make sacrifices to their naked emperors, and we keep saying no. Repeat ad infinitum.

Especially when the answer is to set up a market for this poison so someone can make money from it. Silly twats think this shit is about some noble goal. Altruism is a myth.DBTrek wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2019 1:39 pmThe left defers to “experts” as god-like figures, and is content to abdicate their freedoms, productivity, and quality of life to their expertise without question.

Deflection, deflection, deflection. Plus insurmountable bars of "proof". Also, I've never here advocated carbon credits, but a revenue neutral carbon tax, as described in article linked way above. Interesting how that credit thing keeps getting trotted out because it's an easy target.
But credits did actually work very well reducing SO2 emissions. And the conservatives that enacted it under GHWB liked it better than regulations or taxes. You guys just love to bash stuff without actually providing alternatives. It was one of Dan's biggest problems too.

No alternatives to reality. Demolish your carbon emitting properties, stop consuming, stop driving. You do all that, and you've sold me.

Re: Socialism
Brewster, how does taxing American people and industries, thereby enriching a Federal Government already $21 trillion in debt, save the entire planet?
If it doesn’t, then realize your plan is good for transferring wealth to the ruling class, and poor at saving the world.

The govt won't waste and misspend the money, they will use it to do more climate research that concludes that we need at least 42 trillion in order for climate change to be stopped permanently.

Nothing on the 90%? Nothing on the climate models being unable to account for a huge portion of the climate?
