Brewster, please read.
Read and reflect on how communist systems like the USSR (and China today) leave the environment. Maybe reasses your views.
If you don’t like the source (The Federalist), you can take the same info from Wikipedia:

Yeah. Nothing on the 90% either. Fact is that NYC greater area is a blight on this country, in terms of pollution.
When do you think this whole Global Warming (Ice age) will come to a head?
Noted that you had nothing to say about the larger scope of things on a realistic global scale of 4.3 billion years nor anything about the point about creating a market rather than abstinence regarding our fatal flaw of being human.

So why act on theory, instead of fact?brewster wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2019 9:43 amNone of those theories was ever agreed with by >90% of all climate scientists. This is more than theories, there's tons of data: "By both the NASA and NOAA analyses, 17 of the 18 warmest years since modern record-keeping began have occurred since 2001".Haumana wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2019 1:24 amCan we do the failed destruction of the Earth prophecies next? Ice age and Inconvenient Truth.
Have you ever gone back and figured out what the advocates of these doomsday sayers stand to gain from their prophecies? Did you hear the one about where the globalist environmentalists can't even model the water vapor? It is kind of an important ingredient in the global warming stew and it can't be accounted for. How much of this have you really dug into?

But there is simply nothing that will convince you since you have made "climate change skeptic" part of your identity.
As for polluting cities, we're back to that "per capita" statistics thing you despise. Being by far the biggest US city, being 15th is doing rather well. 8M people have an effect, the question is whether they would have less or more if you smeared them all over suburbia.Nevermind the fact that you capitalize on one of the top 15 polluting cities in the Us.

Re: Socialism
Criticism of it "only being a theory" comes from the scientifically illiterate. All of Newton's and Einstein's work is also "only theories". We acted on "only a theory" building the 1st nuclear bomb. The bar you set for "fact" is in fact unachievable till after the cataclysm has proved it.
Once more your pointless observation that people pollute, and lots of people pollute a lot. But on whether they pollute more than other people you are understandably silent, since you have nothing.
All sorts of things have happened in 4.3 billion years. Several times almost all life was wiped out. So what? Earth will go on, but will we? Our entire civilization is in a tiny 10,000 year portion of that timeline, but all evidence says we have created a climate change like has not been seen in all that time, and threatens that civilization. If sea levels rises hundreds of feet to where they were during the ice ages, billions of people will be displaced, a good portion of them will die. But lets keep the carbon party going so all the petro corporations will make the rich even richer!!When do you think this whole Global Warming (Ice age) will come to a head?

Hardly anything regarding the whole scope of 10,000 years. "If sea levels rise", no feelz there. "But lets keep the carbon party going so all the petro corporations will make the rich even richer!!" No feelz there either.
No. You live among, and off of the backs, of some of the most polluters in the country. {/quote}

Again, why aren't your champions advocating a total abstinence for this issue and why aren't you doing all that you can for your children?

I am sorry, I should have said hypothesis because of some simple science practices called the scientific method.brewster wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2019 1:16 pmCriticism of it "only being a theory" comes from the scientifically illiterate. 1. Observation
2. form a hypothesis
3. Experiment
4. Accept or modify the hypothesis.
5. Develop into law and/or theory
We aren't even past step 3 yet...because so far the data collection has been corrupted by politics and money.

Re: Socialism
What about the fact that they can't even model water vapor accurately? How sound are these models that they have you convinced to, not really inconveniently act upon but, merely advocate for?

Fuck, they can't predict a storm with the most accurate and current models.
