No. The Soviets worshiped the Midwest.

The Midwest is the Superfarm for a Post Scarcity Utopia.

They just didn't have the cash on hand to get one of their own going.
Yes, but you mistake my use of the term of art "hate."

The federal city, whether working out of Moscow, Paris, London, Rome, or Washington City, always has the same lust.
Homo Sapiens Sapiens hyper territorial apex predator, it's baked into the DNA.

You can't fight it, all you can do is harness it to reach for the stars.

Appomattox Court House to the Sea of Tranquility.
I think reality (DNA) models Kansas more than the federal city, FWIW. Anarchy is reality.

Fermi might delay the inevitable trip to the stars and beyond, but I can accept that in the short term. Baby steps.

There is only space for anarchy, in the Sea of Tranquility, Eagle One reaches for the stars, to be free.

Because the collapse of the Soviet Union was a catastrophe.

It's like Weimar Republic.

They capitulated and their Empire collapsed and it turned out to be Hell on Earth.

Long live the Empire, what were we thinking?

Save us, Koba, from the Mahanian Eternal Seapower upon our necks.
Do you think the IMF played a serious part in fucking Russia up in the 90's? I have read some horror stories about this, but idk if that is just propaganda.

Federal city might just be a useful tool in propagating our DNA in a weird way. Either way, the ultimate outcome is not in doubt.

Maybe we should just get the available bags. I don't think Diogenes considered himself to be some kind of end result

I do not chafe against Manifest Destiny, waste of time and energy that.

I'm a hedonist, I just chill on my deck and enjoy the view.

Space programs gonna space program, doesn't crimp my style.

It's getting a little chilly now, so I've taken it downstairs to the patio.

Outdoor room with outdoor gas fireplace.

Manifest Destiny, what's not to love?

I don't think it was a conspiracy like the Russians do.

It was simply the price of socialism.

The Russians however, don't feel like they deserved it.

So now they are revanchist against America as their scapegoat.

Socialists will bankrupt themselves in the end, but it's not like they will take responsibility for that.

It's always somebody elses fault, the Imperialists sabotaged them or whatever.
