Trump is less counter-productive than any realistic alternative, aside from maybe Pence, but even that is debatable, and unless Trump steps aside, that isn't going to happen. Don't have to be Usain Bolt when you are racing those who can't even run.

Can't tank to the Green New Deal even if you wanted to, and Trump stepping down and letting some other GOP candidate take the reigns in 2020, is a pipe dream unless Trump's health falls off a cliff.
