I watched some of Nash v WPG last night. When the players decide to phone it in, coaching is irrelevant, and I have no reason to doubt coaching isn't all that much in case of the inverse.
Regular season hockey can be really brutal.

The case can certainly be made that the Leafs lack defensive depth.
Doesn't explain why Jake Muzzin would be playing good in LA and for his first few games with the Leafs.
And then all of a sudden he is sucking too.
He caught Babcock-itis. Apparently it's a mojo killer.

Muzzin is good, Babcock just doesn't know how to use him properly, and Muzzin is already sick of his shit because of it and tuning him out. It's just a microcosm of Babcock torpedoing his credibility with the rest of the club, just on steroids.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 24, 2019 10:44 amThe case can certainly be made that the Leafs lack defensive depth.

The Kings are hot trash, and yet Muzzin plays better for them, giant red flag, right thur.

I'd say the team has been carried all year by Marner.
Marner covering up for the deficiencies.
Lately Marner has looked disinterested.
If Marner perks up in the playoffs it could right the ship.
Not enough to win the cup tho.
Marner can't do everything.

Asking a winger to win you the cup all by himself, that's a non-starter, I don't care how good that winger is. Marner can't do everything indeed.

He's the best player on the team, by far, the offensive engine and the best defensive forward.
He's looking a little run down right now.
I think he will perk up in the playoffs.
I expect they all will.
Won't be enough tho.
Too many fundamental deficiencies.

Habs @ Buncha Jerks
Great finish in OT.
Svechnikov scores his 20th on Price.

Going for the Prime Rib tonight before the band starts. First time back since I wrote the MM; let’s see if we can keep the high level of noteworthy pick-ups?

My wife made Thai chicken with peanut sauce.
Hella tasty actually.
Plus I grabbed a bottle of Jim Beam Extra Old and some Hollandia Dutch blond chasers, while she was buying the chicken and peanut sauce.
Concurrent activity for the win.

I've drank half the bottle of Jim Beam, and six or seven beers too.
I'm half in the bag already.
Friday Night, eh?
