F-35 Panther for example is a counterforce weapon.

Can deliver B61 and/or B83, stealth preemptive first strike, theater level

Countervalue is LGM-30 Minuteman III

tbh, I didn't think nuke warfare was all that precise. I figured we would obviously target military installations (if they hold nukes, even better), but I didn't think we really cared that much what we hit once the nukes start flying. Its all over anyhow for the person pressing the button. Why doesn't America focus more on counterforce?

It's not precise because the weapons are 1960's tech with a 1980's update.

America has actually never built a 21st century nuclear force.

Why?

Not sure how they do that. Missile command was really isolated from the rest of the Air Force. I had more contact with the Space Command nonners.

There is a Cray supercomputer at Lawrence Livermore which does nothing but model things for the DOE to ensure that the bombs work as they are refurbished, without having to pop one live at Enewitok.

We have nuclear bombs in the real Air Force. They are kept at certain bases, depending upon the role of the wing there, and the kind of aircraft they fly.

Those are all theater tactical weapons, mostly AGM-86 and B61
