The jock really was a nerd, but his father wouldn't let him be one. He was forced to live a life he hated. The nerd girl he fell for was like a life raft for him.
My father was fine with nerding out, like building model airplanes, by Da would build model airplanes with me.

Anything military geek my Da was into. He just drew the line at D&D.
An odd place to draw the line. There is military combat in D&D, magic being involved doesn't change that. Should have pitched it to him that way, "Don't worry Da, I'm playing a fighter who is gonna put a whooping on them faggot magic using nerds."

My Da wanted me to go on dates, he wanted me to meet girls.

The D&D kids just sat around playing D&D, never asked a girl out on a date.

My Da wasn't having it.

Everything in moderation, even moderation. Should have just promised to play more sports and chase more skirt, as long as he let you play a little D&D on the side. He might have gone for that.

Carlos The Dwarf, yo. James Franco got plenty of pussy in that show, playing a little D&D with the nerds in one episode never stopped him.

I thought the maps and figurines were cool, but I didn't have the patience for D&D, took to long for every move.

Plus one of the nerds lipped off to me, so I smacked him in the chops, Eyetalian style, then they wouldn't let me play anymore.

I lived in Corso Italia. There was no D&D in Corso Italia. In Corso Italia, you smacked people in the chops.

The D&D nerds were not down with that. Corso Italia scared the shit out of them.

Corso Italia? I've driven through waay tougher neighborhoods than that, but you don't see me bragging about it. Shit, some of the areas near where I live are mostly black people but I drive through them all the time and sometimes I will even stop at the gas station there during daylight hours. I'm talking 90% black people. I even drove through there at night. I don't get shaken easily.

Most D&D nerds couldn't fight their way out of wet paper bag, and are scared of real violence, but love the fake violence, so not surprising. If you attacked his character in game though, for lipping off to you, they might still have kicked you out anyway, so you might have been fucked either way there.

In fairness, Corso Italia could be scary, not just the wannabe's, in those days there were real Sicilians about.
